My first acquaintance with the cultural and historical psychology occurred when I was a first-year student. I read the work of L. S. Vygotsky, which was entitled “Tool and symbol in child development”. It made a great impression on me, even though much of it was I do not understand. Later, I reread it several times and always discovering something new.
Of course later there were other books and articles on cultural-historical psychology, but the significance of this first impression is hard to overestimate.
A new stage in my understanding of the cultural-historical psychology was my post graduate school. The sphere of my scientific interests embraces a big variety of issues connected with the development of self consciousness in young children. In a study of this area helps me a lot of cultural -historical psychology. Lectures Rubtsova V. V., Obukhovoy L. F. , Veresova N. N. helped to deepen my knowledge of the work of L. S. Vygotsky and his followers.
My participation in work of second International ISCAR University allows me continue to work on my research at a higher level and contributed to a more thorough analysis of its contents.
