Inger Eriksson is professor in education at Stockholm University. Her research interest is related to teaching and learning. In earlier research projects her focus has been on what learning is made available in classrooms, given different teaching practices.

Currently she is engaged in projects on developing teaching where teachers are involved as co-researchers. A specific interest is the development of a mathematical teaching practice where algebraic reasoning is made available for students in grade one following Davydov’s conceptual work. Further, and in line with this, she is involved in a national PhD programme for Learning Study where seven of the PhD-students have framed their projects within either activity theoretical or socio-cultural perspectives. Inger is one of the coordinators of the national CHAT seminar in Stockholm.

Lecture topic: Using activity theory as a didactic design tool in math teaching – possibilities and demands.
