I have aquainted with cultural-historical psychology when I was a student. I studied historical-psychology and reading and precis-writing of L.S. Vygotsky’s monographs, but  I hadn’t a hole presentation of the theory.  At that time it was seemed to me boring and old story.
I have gotten to know better cultural-historical psychology when I required to define methodological foundations of my historical-theoretical research devoted to study of symbols as cultural means of psychotherapy. Due to lectures for postgraduates that delivered by such scientists as Salmina N.G., Zinchenko V.P., Veresov N.N., Venger A.L. (and others) cultural-historical approach has become in my mind  more “alive” and currently central.
I want to participate in the Second International ISCAR Summer University 2011 for the next reasons.
At first, I want to represent and discuss the results of my research. I suppose that investigations of a role of symbolic means and symbolic mediation in psychological practice is the perspective line of researches in cultural-historical psychology.
Secondly, I concern with cultural-historical theory and methodology and I want to improve my knowledge in it.
And in the third place, I’m interested in acquaintance with other foreign scientists and specialists in cultural-historical psychology. I hope to become acquainted with modern lines and problems of studies in the field.
Additionally, I expect I will get inspiration, new questions and ideas for my further scientific activity.
