I heard about ISCAR Summer University during the PhD day of ISCAR 2011 congress which took place in Rome at the beginning of September. This news immediately gave me the wish to participate to the next one in 2012 in order to have the possibility to exchange ideas, to talk about different projects with colleagues and to have a chance to present my ongoing work developed within the research team at the University of Neuchatel (Switzerland) where I’m actually working. During the last ISCAR congress in Rome, I met some PhD students who had taken part in ISCAR SU 2011 and who were really enthusiastic about it: it solicits more and more my interest and my ideas about the usefulness of such a scientific event. This is one of the reasons that convince me to apply, with the support of my research supervisor, Prof. A.-N. Perret-Clermont, to the 3rd ISCAR Summer University 2012 «Moving with and beyond Vygotsky».

I am working at the University of Neuchatel, presently one of the European centers for socio-cultural approach in psychology. My interest within this field is strong, especially under the influence of the research team’s members within which I am developing my study. In my university curriculum I mostly approached this domain of psychology, acquainting myself with different methodological and theoretical elements. My interest in taking part to the 3rd ISCAR Summer School 2012 is strongly connected to those topics about which I would like to learn more. I am also interested in applying in order to have a direct exchange with other people (professors and students) that share the same approaches and scientific questions. The link between argumentation and activity theory also have a great interest to me.

Argumentation is indeed an activity, goal-oriented, with its standards, its rules and its values. My expectations for this Summer School are numerous: the most one important concerns the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants, to take acquaintance of others’ work, and also to present my PhD and get comments, critics and suggestions that could help me to achieve my dissertation in a good way. I really think that I will be able to improve my work in a very satisfactory way actively by participating to the ISCAR Summer School 2012.
